The international transport and info-logistics provider has been active in Hungary since 1994. On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, cargo-partner will open a newly built office and warehouse at Budapest Airport.

The long-time partner of Ferenc Liszt Airport will be one of the first tenants of ‘BUD Cargo City’, whose construction began in January 2019.

cargo-partner in Hungary was founded as one of the international company’s first foreign branches and has since developed to become one of the most important pillars of cargo-partner’s branch network. With over 140 employees in three offices, cargo-partner will now further strengthen its position in the country by moving its airport subsidiary to the newly constructed logistics center BUD Cargo City at the end of 2019. The logistics center will provide a 7,500 m² warehouse with an office mezzanine as well as a three-story office building, all designed to provide ideal conditions for airfreight forwarders. In addition, cargo-partner operates a head office in the city center as well as a warehouse in Gyal.

The Hungarian subsidiary of cargo-partner is scheduled to become one of the first tenants of the new forwarding center. With the relocation to BUD Cargo City, the company is expanding its warehouse space to 1,200 m² and its office space to 400 m². cargo-partner in Hungary has been represented at Budapest Airport since its foundation and today is known as one of the leading logistics companies in the country with a comprehensive service portfolio and special focus on the industry sectors automotive and spare parts, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, aircraft components, electronics as well as semiconductor technology. With a current warehouse capacity of 30,000 m², the Hungarian subsidiary can look back on a successful business year 2018, having handled a total of 25,000 TEU in seafreight and 50,000 shipments in road transport. Against this background, Attila Becze, Regional Director of cargo-partner in Hungary, will invite numerous customers and business partners to the anniversary celebration in fall. Based on the delightful development of the past 25 years and the positive recent trend, a further successful quarter of a century in Hungary can be expected.

cargo-partner had expressed interest in the BUD Cargo City construction project from the start and sees this relocation as an opportunity to offer its customers further improved, faster and thus more competitive services on a larger area. In addition to regular departures from and to the most important air cargo hubs, cargo-partner also offers ‘On-Board Courier’ services, charter solutions, temperature-controlled transports as well as comprehensive competence in handling special and dangerous goods transports. With this varied offering, cargo-partner wants to position itself strongly on the constantly growing airfreight market in the country.

The BUD Cargo City project is part of the airport development program BUD 2020. In the scope of this program, Budapest Airport is investing 160 to 180 million euros out of its own resources into the development of the airport. In the past several years, the airport has garnered attention as an airfreight hub for Central and Southeast Europe. Since then, air cargo volumes have grown to exceed even the yearly increases in passenger transport.
