India’s role in the global pharmaceuticals industry

Over the past decade, India has become one of the world’s dominant players in the pharmaceuticals and healthcare sector. According to the Indian Brand Equity Foundation, India supplies over 50 percent of global demand for various vaccines, 40 percent of generics demand in the US and 25 percent of all medicine in the UK. Indian drugs are exported to more than 200 countries in the world, with the US as the key market. For cargo-partner, this means that India is a key strategic point in the company’s global Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare network.
