In January 2024, cargo-partner became a member of the Nippon Express (NX) Group, marking a new chapter in our sustainability journey. As part of one global team, we now share a broader network, stronger capabilities, and a common vision for a more sustainable future.
The sustainability goals, ratings, and initiatives of the NX Group now also represent cargo-partner. Together, we are pursuing a collective strategy that combines the strengths of our entire global organization.
2030 Emissions Targets
Lowering the environmental impact of our business activities is a key imperative. We fully comprehend the amount of CO₂ emissions that the transport industry is responsible for creating. With that in mind, we’ve set ambitious goals to reduce our carbon footprint significantly in the coming years.
Our Commitment
In alignment with our shared commitment to global sustainability, we adhere to the near-term NX Group COâ‚‚e emission reduction targets, which have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and are thus considered science-based. This means the targets are in line with what the latest climate science deems necessary to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement – limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.Â
Targets:
Reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 42% by 2030 (from 2020)
Reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions from upstream transportation and distribution 25% by 2030 (from 2022)*
Reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions from use of sold products for sold fossil fuels by 42% (from 2022)*
* The target boundary includes land-related emissions and removals from bioenergy feedstocks.

Investing in photovoltaic systems on our premises
Modernizing our warehouses and office buildings
Sourcing renewable energy suppliers

Limiting business travel
Sourcing eco-friendly carriers
Encouraging environment-friendly staff commuting
Promoting COâ‚‚-reduced transport alternatives to our customers
