2030 Emission Targets

Lowering the environmental impact is a business imperative. We fully comprehend the amount of CO₂ emissions that the transport industry is responsible for creating. With that in mind, we’ve set ambitious goals to reduce our carbon footprint significantly in the coming years. 

Our Commitment

In alignment with our shared commitment to global sustainability, we adhere to the near-term NX Group CO₂e emission reduction targets, which have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and are thus considered science-based. This means the targets are in line with what the latest climate science deems necessary to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement – limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.

The targets are the following:

• Reducing absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 42% by 2030 from a 2020 base year.

• Reducing absolute scope 3 GHG emissions from upstream transportation and distribution 25% by 2030 from a 2022 base year.*

• Reducing absolute scope 3 GHG emissions from use of sold products for sold fossil fuels 42% within the same timeframe.*

* The target boundary includes land-related emissions and removals from bioenergy feedstocks.

Steps being taken for Scopes 1 & 2:

• Replacing company cars with electric cars

• Investing in photovoltaic systems on our premises

• Modernizing our warehouses and office buildings

• Sourcing renewable energy suppliers

Steps being taken for Scope 3:

• Limiting business travel

• Sourcing eco-friendly carriers

• Encouraging environment-friendly staff commuting

• Promoting CO₂-reduced transport alternatives to our customers
