cargo-partner Opens First Office in North Macedonia

The international transport and info-logistics provider continues to expand its network in Europe and has opened a new office in Skopje as of March 2021, complementing the company’s existing road transport and logistics hubs in Bulgaria and Serbia.

cargo-partner is ramping up its expansion throughout Europe and adding a further country to its network. Only a few weeks after opening the first office in the United Kingdom and announcing a further expansion in the Netherlands, the logistics provider is now strengthening its network in Southeast Europe with an operational office in Skopje, North Macedonia. With this new office, cargo-partner offers a comprehensive range of transport services by air, sea and road and connects the country to its existing logistics network in the SEE region.

Stefan Krauter, CEO of cargo-partner, on the motivations for the investment: “Following the growing demand of our customers in this region, the opening of our office in Skopje was the natural next step in our company’s growth. This perfectly complements our established hubs in Serbia and Bulgaria and further strengthens our position in this part of Europe.” cargo-partner has been represented in Bulgaria since 2003 and in Serbia since 2004. In 2018, the company opened its iLogistics Center in Sofia with 22,000 pallet slots on a total area of 16,500 m². In Belgrade, the logistics provider currently offers 8,000 m² of storage space. Frequent trucking departures connect these warehouses to cargo-partner’s distribution network in Central and Eastern Europe.

Convinced of the business potential of this region, Stefan Krauter adds: “The new office in Skopje will allow us to better leverage North Macedonia’s strategic position in the Balkans. For seafreight shipments, our clients benefit from fast access to Thessaloniki, while our dense road transport network is the ideal basis for distribution throughout Europe. Our experienced team can provide end-to-end solutions from a single source, including in-depth knowledge of customs procedures for shipments to and from the EU.”

The cargo-partner team in Skopje currently offers regular consolidation services from Skopje to Pristina in Kosovo, Podgorica in Montenegro, Tirana in Albania and Thessaloniki in Greece, as well as between North Macedonia and Bulgaria. In connection with its logistics centers in Sofia and Belgrade, the company provides comprehensive distribution solutions with full coverage of the region. In addition, cargo-partner is currently working on establishing regular lines between North Macedonia and Turkey as well as Austria. For transport flows to Northern Europe, this will enable short transit times via the cargo-partner iLogistics Center in Fischamend as well as fast distribution and full connectivity through the company’s European distribution center in Roermond, Netherlands.
